Roger gathered a great group of makeup artists who are
working at Field of Screams in Olney MD. Field of Screams has a haunted forest, house,
and hay ride, which is raising money for the Olney Boys and Girls Club. It is
so much fun to be a part of the makeup team. We are having fun splattering
blood (fake) on the actors, and making up creepy zombies, scary/ UV clowns, and
so many other weird characters. Below are some pictures; and I will be posting
other blogs/ pictures about Field of Screams. Also, last but definitely not
least, if you haven’t been to Field of Screams, go! You'll have so much fun=)

Crystal Couture
My first internship job with Roger Riggle was at Crystal Couture. Crystal
Couture is a fashion show in Arlington, VA for local designers and boutiques.
Roger Riggle was commissioned to body paint models. On my first day, he turned
a male model into a woodland creature. One of the many things I thought was
cool was using real bamboo leaves from Roger’s yard as stencils. We laid the
leaves down the model’s arms and one leg as if they were growing on a branch
and Roger air brushed over it. If I was able to pull the leaves up from his
arms and leg without smearing the paint (which was the hardest part) it looked
amazing. Then I just went in with some black paint and a brush to outline the
leaf veins, to make it easier to see from farther away. It looked great! (See
the picture below) I learned that week how to use many different materials as
stencils. Crystal Couture was so much
fun and I would love to do it again soon. Check it out next year, I bet you’ll
love it!

Starting Out
Hey,
my name is Jewel and I’m Roger Riggle’s new makeup intern. I have always
enjoyed playing with makeup, but I’m very new to the makeup world. Other than watching makeup videos on YouTube,
I have no formal training. So I’m very excited to learn lots of new tips and
tricks from Roger. Roger and I thought it would be a great idea to bring you
guys along for the ride. I will be blogging about my experiences and what I
learn from the interesting jobs that I go on with Roger. I hope you are ready
to learn with me. I can’t wait =).
